Katherine Johnson was a woman who worked in mathematics and helped people go to the moon. She lived in the United States from 1918 until 2020. She was very good at math and studying numbers to help rockets go into space. She worked at NASA. “Johnson formed part of a group of African-American women known as ‘Computers of the West” (source: Britannica School database} She was important because at that time it was very difficult for women to get a job, a scientific thing.
